Programs
The Community Volunteers Women’s Group sponsors the following programs within the community:
Gull Lake Community Schools Support
Our group funds program and equipment needs within our schools, as well as provides clothing, food, educational support, and other resources for the benefit of the students. We support programs that lack adequate funding including tutoring, educational trips, AV equipment, library books, technology, and art supplies. These efforts touch the lives of hundreds of students each year.
Medical/Dental Assistance Programs
This CV subsidy program targets families in the community whose needs qualify them for specific health assistance. This includes medical attention, dental work, counseling, and evaluation for learning disabilities.
Community Emergency Needs
We provide funds for emergency situations faced by families in our community. These needs range from food and clothing for immediate crises to assistance with emergency heat, fuel, transportation, and rent payments.
Scholarship
Each spring, our group awards $1000 scholarships to a Gull Lake community high school senior who has demonstrated exemplary volunteerism.
Bright Holiday Program
We sponsor and coordinate this annual winter holiday program. Families in need are provided with clothing, food, educational toys, and miscellaneous household items. We work with local businesses and individuals along with school and church contacts to acquire and distribute items that meet the needs of these families.
Fall Warm-up Program
This CV program provides winter gear for children in need within the Gull Lake Community School district. Working with school contacts and referrals, we assist in providing coats, hats, mittens, gloves, snow pants, and boots.
Community Activities
We assist in sponsoring Richland Village community events including the Independence Day Parade and Oktoberfest. We support the Gull Lake Marine Patrol, Little League, Richland Community Celebration, camper sponsorships, and projects that promote safety and recreation.
